Shobha writes a lot of s**t about Salman and Malaika

Shobha writes a lot of s**t about Salman and MalaikaIt has become fashionable for B-Town stars to take potshots at anyone with a view on their film. Brash actors and actresses do it... even flop directors. But we were shocked when we read Arbaaz Khan (who has been the best of the Khan brothers) spewing so much venom (especially after his film was declared a hit).

After writer-columnist Shobhaa De got critical about Dabangg, Salman Khan and Malaika, Arbaaz wrote on a social networking website:

*His first tweet, "Shobha De writes a lot of s**t about Salman and Malaika. Her claim to fame is marrying some rich industrialist. I'm not sure if its 3 or 4.

Mr De hold on to your money or Shobha at 60 can still compete with Elizabeth Taylor. One thought that age makes you wiser but unfortunately its not happening in the case of Shobha who is 60."

*The second tweet went like this: "This idiotic woman had recently said ban Dabangg. Who the hell is she? Is she the law? She's a frustrated sleaze writer. That's it. If this woman was not to write about celebs she would not even be entertained."

*The third tweet took another shot at Shobha, this time with a twist on Munni Badnaam Hui "Buddhi badnaam hui darling mere liye."

Having an opinion is good but downright abuse is disgusting! Maybe this is what success does to some people...

Akshay's brush with royalty costs him Rs 17 lakh

Akshay`s brush with royalty costs him Rs 17 lakhAkshay's wife (and his stylist on MasterChef India), Twinkle picks out a Rs 17-lakh sherwani for his meeting with royalty

For a special episode on MasterChef India shot at the Udaipur Palace with HRH Sriji Arvind Singh Mewar, Akshay Kumar wears an expensive sherwani specially handpicked by his wife Twinkle.

Says a source close to Akshay, "Twinkle picked out a unique, diamond-encrusted, pearl-studded, Abu Jaani creation worth Rs. 17 lakhs on hearing that her man would be received by the Maharana himself -- a rare honour.

Twinkle (who has styled Akki for some episodes of the show) was very excited and insisted on this special look for Akshay. She wanted him to look like a royal as well! She felt the sherwani looked majestic and perfectly suited for the occasion."

As a special task, the contestants have to cook up a royal treat for the king and his courtiers at the Udaipur palace. The source adds, "Sriji Arvind Mewar has never been known to welcome strangers in his palace and has even refused several shoot requests. But he made a surprising exception only for Akshay.

He not only allowed the shoot to take place but also welcomed a crew of 150-odd people and mediapersons into the palace. A part of the palace was opened for Masterchef India where the crew was given permission to move around freely."

What happens to Imran and Deepika's Love Story?

What happens to Imran and Deepika`s Love Story? What happens to an on-screen couple in love after the film is over? It seems filmmaker Kunal Kohli won't make us wait for a sequel to get an answer.

In Break Ke Baad the film Kohli is producing with Deepika Padukone and Imran Khan in the lead, the team recently shot an additional epilogue, after the screenplay has its say.

Explains Kunal Kohli, “When I made Hum Tum everyone wanted to know what happens to Saif and Rani after THE END. Do they live happily ever after? I've lost track of how many people have suggested a sequel to Hum Tum. That's something I won't do. Why go back to a film when there're so many virgin stories waiting to be broken into?”

What Kunal would henceforth do is add an “after-story”.

“In Break Ke Baad we've shot a story beyond the screenplay narrating a small improvised screenplay about the life that Deepika and Imran lead after the film is over. I could be using the same device in my other films in future if the characers seem to have a life after the film.”

Last week Kohli and his Break Ke Baad director Danish Aslam also shot a music video which was initially cut down by Kunal Kohli. But the director and his lead pair Deepika and Imran insisted on it.

Says Kunal, “I really didn't want to do a music video.I was the first one to do music video in our films for Hum Tum. But now everyone is doing it.So I was against doing one in Break Ke Baad.”

What convinced Kunal was the lyrics. “I wanted a song about separation. But I didn't want the words, 'Break Ke Baad'. Prasoon Joshi came up with such a wonderful line. Dooriyan zaroori hai. I was like, wow! All our love songs talk about separation being not worth considering. And separation was seen as important in every relationship. Every relationship needs space. I liked that concept.”

The music video would be part of the newly-shot epilogue in Break Ke Baad.

Salman's ladies to walk for him, even Katrina Kaif

Salman`s ladies to walk for him, even Katrina KaifSalman Khan gets most of his leading ladies to walk ramp for his charity, Being Human
PS: The Dabangg star and buddy, Aamir Khan will be the only guys in tow

After getting an all-guy gang of fellow actors to walk at his Being Human show last year, Salman Khan has now requested his leading ladies, among a few other actresses to scorch the catwalk this time.

The all-girl brigade will walk the ramp at a fashion showing hosted by Salman Khan and his sister Alvira Agnihotri at the LFW on October 9. The proceeds from the show will go to Salman's NGO, Being Human.

The success of last year's show (see box) is seen as reason enough to sign on to be a part of the charity event, and ergo, be in the man's good books.

Alvira and Salman have sent out personal invites to Khan's leading ladies and they have responded almost instantly.

Here's what you can expect...

THE THEME: Changing fashion trends over time as showcased by outfits that symbolise various eras.

CONFIRMED: Katrina Kaif, Priyanka Chopra, Bipasha Basu, Asin, Preity Zinta, Rani Mukerji.

IN TALKS: With Sushmita Sen, Vidya Balan, Deepika Padukone and Ameesha Patel.

PATCH-WORK:
"Though Katrina and Salman are no longer together, she continues to be friends with Baby (Alvira) and Bhai (Salman). They asked her and she immediately agreed."

Priyanka, who also had issues with her Mujhse Shaadi Karoge co-star will be specially flying down from the UK for a day to walk the ramp for him.

Bipasha patched up with the actor during an awards event held earlier this year. "They are good buddies now, " reveals our source.

Bebo is doing the show despite reports of her not getting along with Khan during the shooting of Main Aurr Mrs Khanna.

STRANGELY: Khan's Dabangg heroine Sonakshi Sinha hasn't been confirmed as yet. Also Malaika Arora Khan, Salman sis-in-law and the Munni of the moment won't be walking the ramp with him. Says the source, "The show will feature only Bhai's leading ladies, so Baby and he haven't even asked Malaika."

PHIR SE: There will be no showstopper. The girls will walk with Salman and Aamir for the grand finale. The ensembles have been designed for free and will be auctioned off later.

THE DRAW: The Kapoor sisters -- Karisma and Kareena -- will walk together. Salman and Aamir will be the only guys walking with the gals.

RESIDENT DESIGNERS: Manish Malhotra will design the only two Indian outfits -- for Lolo and Rani. The rest have been sourced or designed by stylist Anaita Shroff Adajania.

COUNT ME OUT: Though invited, Shilpa Shetty can't attend because she will be in London attending a family event.

LAST YEAR
In 2009, Salman put together an all-male cast for the Being Human Fashion Show. The men who walked the ramp included Ajay Devgn, Aamir Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Saif Ali Khan, Akshay Kumar, Sohail Khan, Arbaaz Khan and Govinda. It was the first time Aamir modelled for a show and took to the ramp. This year as well, the actor will be present to show support to his friend, Salman.

Neha Sharma is very beautiful: Emraan Hashmi

Neha Sharma is very beautiful: Emraan HashmiActor Emraan Hashmi was in Kolkata to promote his upcoming film 'Crook- It's Good to Be Bad' on Sunday. Gourav Mukherjea catches up with the serial kisser during his breezy visit.

Tell something us about your upcoming film Crook?
Crook is a film based on racial discrimination with the Indians abroad. We have done a lot of research in Australia before filming. But, let me clarify, it is not any kind of documentary, it is a hardcore commercial masala flick.

What about the character Jai you played?
Jai has a knack of getting into trouble and the story revolves around his life. My character in Crook is one of the best characters created in recent times. I am sure my character in this film will reach out to every heart.

It is seen that music holds a really strong base in your films. Do Emraan Hashmi indulge himself in selecting music, prior to choosing films?
No, it's never like that. I never choose a film based on its music. Selection of songs and music completely depends on the music director. But, what I know is that, the songs were or are created in relevance with the plot of the films.

Hence, the songs have placed themselves with the ease of the films. Same goes with Crook. The music is great. There is a variety in every track, a lot of Punjabi and romantic numbers are in it. I am sure, the people will love them.

Share your experience of shooting in Australia?
We were in Australia for over a month. Indians and locals were very welcoming; they gave their full support to the cast and crew. But an unfortunate incident took place. Though we got everything legally cleared beforehand, we were not allowed to shoot for the last three days. So, we returned to Mumbai and shot that part in the city.

Why were you not allowed to shoot?
I really don't know the exact reasons; it's a matter concerned with the production house and the production people dealt with it.

How is it working opposite a newcomer?
Neha (Sharma) is very beautiful. Apart from that, she turned up to be a very good and bright actress. She was always perfect in her performance.

Now-a-days every actor is experimenting with their looks. But we don't see much of that in you?
Yes, many actors are changing their style and look. But I prefer to play different characters in every films than changing my looks in every film.

As you are a father now, do you think that the serial kisser image might harm your personal life?
Not at all, my bold image is just a part of my job. There is nothing in my hands. It all depends on the script and the directors...what they want from me.

I do films to sustain my family, they know that it is my profession. My films are not for my family...my films are for the audience and they are the matter of concern.

Aishwarya allows Abhishek to romance Katrina

Aishwarya allows Abhishek to romance KatrinaWhen Vipul Shah approached Aishwarya to cast her opposite hubby Abhishek in The Italian Job, she ended up recommending Katrina Abhishek Bachchan and Katrina Kaif are set to star in Vipul Shah's upcoming film, The Italian Job; a remake of the Hollywood film by the same name starring Mark Wahlberg and Charlize Theron.

This puts an end to whispers about animosity between the two actors. Rumours included Katrina declining the film because it starred Abhishek Bachchan, and yet another about Aishwarya Rai Bachchan preventing Abhishek from doing films with Katrina.

Says a source, "Vipul's first option was to cast Abhishek and Aishwarya. It was Aishwarya who prompted Vipul to cast Katrina instead." This is not the first time that Aishwarya has suggested another actress in her place.

Previously, the actor recommended Priyanka Chopra for Dostana. Says Shah, "All I can say at the moment is that Aishwarya has absolutely no objections to the Abhishek-Katrina pair on screen."

On her part, Katrina confirms that she has no issues working with Abhishek either. "All these ridiculous rumours about me not working with Abhishek started when my dates for The Italian Job didn't work out, and Dostana 2 got postponed.

Abhishek is a great guy. I did Sarkar with him at the start of my career. There were other offers but I felt they were not good enough to do justice to our pairing. I decided that whenever we work together again, it would be for a full-blown romantic comedy."
